About Rooted
Rooted was built from lived experience—not theory.
Founded by a native of Long Beach who grew up in this city and now serves as a law enforcement officer, Rooted comes from a real understanding of what many young people in our communities face every day—the pressure, the distractions, the lack of guidance, and the weight of figuring life out alone.
But it also comes from seeing something else: Potential.
Rooted exists because too many young people are left without structure, mentorship, or direction during the years that matter most.
Our mission is to equip the next generation in our communities with the tools, support, and sense of identity they need to rise above their circumstances and lead with strength and purpose. We focus on building a foundation—mentally, physically, and financially—so they’re not just surviving, but prepared to grow.
We believe real change comes from consistency, accountability, and having the right people in your corner. That’s why Rooted is built on mentorship, structure, and honest conversations—meeting young people where they are while pushing them to become more.
We’re planting seeds of purpose, watering them with discipline and guidance, and creating space for the next generation to grow into strong, capable leaders.
Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local leaders across Long Beach, Rooted is more than a program—it’s a network of support, opportunity, and transformation.
This is about more than programs.
It’s about building a culture.
One where young people understand their value, take ownership of their future, and move with purpose.
Together, we’re building something that lasts.
